Purnea University Under Graduate(UG) Admission 2026-30

1. Educational Qualification

• You must have successfully passed your 10+2 (Intermediate) examination (I.A. / I.Sc. / I.Com) or an equivalent exam.

• The qualification must be from the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) or any other recognized National or State education board (such as CBSE, ICSE, etc.).

2. Minimum Marks Requirement

• Same Stream / Honours Subject: To opt for a specific subject as your Major/Honours, you generally need a minimum of 45% marks in that particular subject in your 12th board exams.

• Changing Streams: If you are changing your academic stream (for example, switching from the Science or Commerce stream in 12th to an Arts/Humanities program for your UG), you typically need a minimum aggregate score of 50% marks in your 12th-grade exams.

• General Pass: You must have the minimum passing marks (usually 33%) overall to be eligible to apply for general programs.

3. Admission & Selection Process

• Merit-Based: For traditional B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com programs, selection is primarily based on a Merit List generated from your Class 12 board exam scores.

• Vocational Courses (BCA, BBA, etc.): For specialized or vocational degree programs, the university may evaluate admissions through the Purnea University Entrance Test (PUET) or accept CUET scores.

4. Required Documents for Eligibility Verification

During the application and admission process, you must be able to produce:

• 10th and 12th Mark sheets and Passing Certificates

• School/College Leaving Certificate (TC) and Migration Certificate

• Caste/Category Certificate (if claiming reservation quotas)
